It’s OK and even necessary to use imagination as a scientist, entertainer or inventor, but it’s not such a good idea in other, more repetitive occupations. These capabilities with the potential to be advantages are often underestimated or even unknown. Einstein used his ability to daydream to come up with relativity theory, whilst children are often discouraged to daydream, thus this capability risks not being fully developed. Where using ones capabilities leads to happiness, not using them has not a neutral effect, it has even a negative effect: it results in unhappiness.
While reading on statistics I came across this one…
Literacy Statistics
- Over 50% of NASA employees are dyslexic. They are deliberately sought after because they have superb problem solving skills and excellent 3D and spatial awareness.
If NASA prefers people with dyslexia, you better believe this is because they also know its a Yah giving ability!
Another shocking statistic
- Dyslexia affects one out of every five children – ten million in America alone.
If this is true, than dyslexia is not a disability, but a different way of learning. Not every child or person should be taught the same way or be expect to learn the same way for that matter.
