Dietary Exception Laws of Torah – Lessons, Worksheets, Online Quiz, Game  

 

 

 

 

                       

EAT ANY DAY,

EXCEPT ON THE DAY OF ATONEMENT

1) DO NOT EAT or DRINK ANYTHING ON THE DAY OF ATONEMENT,

as it is written, “Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an set-apart convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls,” – (Leviticus 23:27)

Reason for not eating on the day of atonement, as it is written, “for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before YHWH your Elohim.  – (Leviticus 23:28)

Judgment for eating on the day of Atonement,as it is written, “For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.” – (Leviticus 23:29)

  YOU MAY EAT LEAVEN BREAD (bread, cookies, cake etc…with yeast or baking powder)

EXCEPT DURING THE PASSOVER & FEAST OF UNLEAVEN BREAD

Do not eat anything with Leaven during the Feast of Unleaven Bread. Remove all leaven out of your house before the feast day of unleaven bread. This means no baking soda, or baking powder. Read your labels, many crackers, cereal, cookies, cakes & breads of course, have “leaven, baking soda or baking powder in them.

2) DO NOT EAT ANYTHING WITH LEAVEN DURING THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD,

as it is written, “and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters. – (Exodus 13:7)

Reason for not eating leaven during the feast of unleavened bread,

as it is written, “And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which YHWH did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.   And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that YHWH‘s law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath YHWH brought thee out of Egypt.” – (Exodus 13:8-9)

Passover meal never includes Bread with leaven in them. Only Unleaven Bread can be eating.

3) DO NOT EAT LEAVEN BREAD WITH THE PASSOVER,

as it is written, “Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.” – (Deuteronomy16:3)

YOU MAY EAT FOOD’S YOU GROW IN THE LAND OF ISRAEL,

EXCEPT, …YOU MUST OFFER TO YHWH FIRST!

4) WHEN YOU REAP THE FIRST FRUIT OF THE HARVEST, DO NOT EAT BREAD or PARCHED CORRN, or GREEN EARS, until YOU MAKE AN OFFERING UNTO YHWH,

as it is written,“Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: And he shall wave the sheaf before YHWH, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your Elohim: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.” –Leviticus 23:10-11,14

YOU MAY EAT FRUITS,

EXCEPT, WAIT 4 YEARS FROM THE TIME IT STARTS TO GROW

5) DO NOT EAT OF YOUNG FRUIT TREES FOR THE FIRST FOUR YEARS OF GROWTH,

as it is written, “19:23 And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of. But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be set-apart to praise YHWH withal. 5 And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, – Leviticus 19:23-25

YOU  MAY DRINK WINE or STRONG DRINK,

EXCEPT, WHEN YOU ENTER INTO THE TABERNACLE OF THE CONGREGATION

6) DO NOT DRINK WINE or STRONG DRINK WHEN TABERNACLE OF THE CONGREGATION,

as it is written… “Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:”– Leviticus 10:9

DO NOT DRINK WINE or STRONG DRINK WHEN TABERNACLE OF THE CONGREGATION

YOU MAY EAT OF THE CLEAN BIRDS,

 EXCEPT…

1) WHEN YOU COME ACROSS A BIRD NEST, YOU MAY TAKE THE YOUNG ONES or EGGS, BUT SET THE MOTHER BIRD FREE,

 

as it is written, “if a bird’s nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young: But thou shalt in any wise let the dam go, and take the young to thee; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days”.- (Deuteronomy 22:6-7)

 

Reason for setting the mother bird free when taking the nest or the young, as it is written,it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days”.- (Deuteronomy 22:7)

         

YOU MAY EAT OF THE CLEAN ANIMALS,

EXCEPT DO NOT EAT BLOOD

2) DO NOT EAT BLOOD, POUR IT UPON THE EARTH AS WATER,

as it is written, “ Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh. Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water. Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of YHWH.”- (Deuteronomy 12:23-25)

The Reason for not eating blood,

as it is written, “And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.  For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.  Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.  And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.  For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off. – (Leviticus 17:10-14) 

Judgment for eating blood

,as it is written, Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings. Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.” – (Leviticus 7:26-27)

YOU MAY EAT OF THE CLEAN ANIMALS,

EXCEPT DO NOT EAT THEIR FAT

3) DO NOT EAT THE FAT OF ANY ANIMALS,

as written, “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Ye shall eat no manner of fat, of ox, or of sheep, or of goat. And the fat of the beast that dieth of itself, and the fat of that which is torn with beasts, may be used in any other use: but ye shall in no wise eat of it. – (Leviticus 7:23-25)

Reason you can not eat fat,

as it is written, “fat offered to Yah for sacrifice – scripture reference needed

Judgment for eating fat,

as it is written, “For whosoever eateth the fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire unto YHWH, even the soul that eateth it shall be cut off from his people.” – (Leviticus 7:25)

YOU MAY EAT OF THE CLEAN ANIMALS,

EXCEPT WHEN IT DIES OF ITSELF

4) DO NOT EAT ANY ANIMAL THAT DIES OF IT’S SELF,

as it is written, “Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien:” – (Deuteronomy 14:21)

Reason for not eating an animal that dies of itself,

as it is written, “for thou art an set-apart people unto YHWH thy Elohim.” – (Deuteronomy 14:21)

YOU MAY EAT OF THE CLEAN ANIMALS,

EXCEPT WHEN IT IS KILLED BY ANOTHER ANIMAL

5) DO NOT EAT ANY ANIMAL KILLED BY ANOTHER ANIMAL, as it is written, “neither shall ye eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.” – (Exodus 22:31) Reason for not eating an animal killed by another animal, as it is written, “And ye shall be set-apart men unto me:” – (Exodus 22:31)            

    YOU MAY EAT OF THE CLEAN ANIMALS,

EXCEPT WHEN IT KILLS A HUMAN 6) DO NOT EAT AN OX THAT KILLS A MAN OR WOMAN,

as it is written,  “If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.” – (Exodus 21:28)        

YOU MAY EAT A KID (baby goat or lamb),

EXCEPT DO NOT BOIL OR BAKE IT IN HIS MOTHERS MILK

7) DO NOT BOIL or BAKE A KID WHEN ITS NOT WEANED (in milk), as it is written, “Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.” – (Deuteronomy 14:21)
