- Find a Derivative –This page can help you to find the derivative of some simple mathematical expressions. It cannot do them all, but you are welcome to try!
ABOUT BEING ABOUT TO FIND DERIVATIVE: Being able to find a derivative is a “must do” lesson for any student taking Calculus. Derivatives are found all over science and math, and are a measure of how one variable changes with respect to another variable.
If you are taking your first Calculus class, derivatives are sort of like little “puzzles” that you have to work out. When all of the math, limits, and technical stuff boils away, it leaves behind many rules for how to “take a derivative.”
- Find a Derivative Using the Quotient Rule – This page will show you how to take the derivative using the quotient rule. Type the numerator and denominator of your problem into the boxes, then click the button.
ABOUT QUOTIENT RULE: The quotient rule is a formula for finding the derivative of a fraction.
- Solve an Indefinite Integral – This page can show you how to do some very basic integrals. It is not very “smart” though, so do not be surprised if it cannot do your integral. It is best at integrals involving polynomials and trigonometric functions.
ABOUT INTEGRAL: Being able to do an integral is a key skill for any Calculus student.
- Find the Numerical Answer to a Definite Integral – This page will give you the numerical answer to an integral. It will not show you how to do the integral, and you must type in two numerical limits of integration. Sorry it doesn’t show you how to do the integrals, but it can be useful for checking answers to integrals you may be working on.
